STIM SONIC ID

To mark their hundred-year anniversary, Sweden's largest collective management organization for music creators and publishers (Stim), decided they needed a Sonic Identity. We were asked to pitch, and after thorough research and grinding our teeth, we won(!).

Stim was established in 1923 and had never had their own Sonic Identity, and of course, it was an honor for us (as musicians) to help them establish one. The main goal was to create music that would live on through many years, rooted in Stim's long and dignified history, its many different members and their musical tastes, and also the possibility for them to remix the song into different versions - a way for Stim to activate their members and let them be a part of the music.

The logo, with its four drum hits, is a direct translation of the four letters in Stim and sounds like heartbeats, representing Stim's long and vibrant history as the backbone of Swedish music. The melody in the logo can be heard throughout the song with different phrasings in both melody and chords, giving it a coherent feel.

To develop this theme and feeling of Stim's legacy further, we recorded a big string orchestra, a choir, and horns. And to not forget the present and future of Stim, we added a modern touch with samplers and synths. Altogether, it gave it a nice dynamic and creative sound.
